Radio Program Prepares Listeners for Baptism

June 04, 2014

A few months ago we reported that at the conclusion of the Ten Days of Prayer in January, eighty-five people were baptized in Monrovia, Liberia. They had been listening to “The Berean Hour,” a live call-in radio program on Radio Advent FM, and had responded to the invitation by producers to go to a Seventh-day Adventist Church on Sabbath morning if they wanted to be baptized.  On Sabbath, April 19, 2014, thirty-two more people showed up in area churches and requested baptism, after listening and participating in the radio Bible studies.

“This is a regular occurrence,” says Dowell Chow, President of Adventist World Radio. The Holy Spirit is working on hearts and breaking down barriers in response to the many prayers to reach people in that part of northern Africa in the 10/40 window.
