Operation Global Rain 2012 is over, but you can still participate in united prayer!
We would like to encourage those who were unable to participate in Operation Global Rain to choose another ten-day period this year and come together in united prayer.
Operation Global Rain started in 2007 as a grassroots movement of prayer focused upon revival and reformation on a global scale. As a result over 1800 churches from over 90 countries participated in an unprecedented prayer event for the Adventist church, 10 days of prayer for the outpouring of God's Holy Spirit. Many people and churches experienced revival, and many testimonies were heard of people coming back to the fold as a direct result of OGR. Since then, once a year OGR has brought about a unified time (10 Days) of prayer across the globe.
But with over some 60,000 Adventist churches in the world, an additional 60,000 more companies, this was by far a small number of participants. However, as a result of the Spirit’s leading, much prayer and a greater desire to see revival and reformation throughout the world church, the General Conference of Seventh-day Adventists has voted to make this annual prayer event a priority operation for the global church.

You can register as a church, small group, or school.
How to participate
- Ask God to prepare your heart for the 10-day experience.
- Ask one or more people to join you, or ask your pastor about making this a church-wide event.
- Choose a convenient time to pray together. Set aside one hour each day for united prayer, if possible.
- Begin and end your group prayer time with praise and thanksgiving. Choose an applicable psalm to pray through.
- Pray short sentence prayers so each person can pray more than once and to allow for the Holy Spirit to impress you how to pray.
- Make your time more powerful by spending it in prayer rather than in discussion.
- Set aside personal, private time with God in addition to the group prayer times.
- Consider some type of fasting, such as from TV, secular music, movies, the Internet, or desserts. Use the extra time to pray and read your Bible. Ask God to reveal Himself to you.
- Ask your pastor about promoting the 10 days of prayer at your church by sharing testimonies of how God has worked through united prayer. On both Sabbaths during the 10 days institute a special prayer focus.
- Ask God to show you five people to pray for during the 10 days.
What is the "11th day" of Operation Global Rain? There are 10 days of prayer with daily gatherings, but the eleventh day is meant to be an additional morning of praise and thanksgiving for what God has done and will do! One idea is to have individuals share very briefly testimonies of what the Lord has done in their lives over the past 10 days. He may give you other ideas of how to rejoice in His goodness!
