Psalms 93
Reading Time: Less than one minute Listen
The Lord reigneth, he is clothed with majesty; the Lord is clothed with strength, wherewith he hath girded himself: the world also is stablished, that it cannot be moved.
2 Thy throne is established of old: thou art from everlasting.
3 The floods have lifted up, O Lord, the floods have lifted up their voice; the floods lift up their waves.
4 The Lord on high is mightier than the noise of many waters, yea, than the mighty waves of the sea.
5 Thy testimonies are very sure: holiness becometh thine house, O Lord, for ever.

Psalm 93:1-5
The Lord Reigns
1The Lord reigns; he is robed in majesty;
the Lord is robed; he has put on strength as his belt.
Yes, the world is established; it shall never be moved.
2Your throne is established from of old;
you are from everlasting.
3The floods have lifted up, O Lord,
the floods have lifted up their voice;
the floods lift up their roaring.
4Mightier than the thunders of many waters,
mightier than the waves of the sea,
the Lord on high is mighty!
5Your decrees are very trustworthy;
holiness befits your house,
O Lord, forevermore.

Psalm 93:1-5
Psalm 93
1The Lord reigns, he is robed in majesty;
the Lord is robed in majesty and armed with strength;
indeed, the world is established, firm and secure.
2Your throne was established long ago;
you are from all eternity.
3The seas have lifted up, Lord,
the seas have lifted up their voice;
the seas have lifted up their pounding waves.
4Mightier than the thunder of the great waters,
mightier than the breakers of the sea—
the Lord on high is mighty.
5Your statutes, Lord, stand firm;
holiness adorns your house
for endless days.

Commentary
This chapter pictures the Throne Room of the Capitol of the entire universe and the God who rules over the vastness of uncounted worlds and beings. Not uncounted to Him, however! He who is robed in majesty knows intimately every single planet and every individual residing there.
The majesty of God can scarcely be imagined by human beings. We view the impressive ritual of British Royalty ascending the throne. We can hardly envision a grander ceremony, more beautiful jewels, or lovely surroundings. Artists have painted beautiful impressions of the New Jerusalem, sparkling with gold in lovely settings. Yet eye has not seen the glory God has prepared for us, nor can we imagine the overwhelming majesty of His Presence.
Because sinners would be instantly slain by His brightness and glory, God gave His only Son, mercifully veiled in human flesh, that we might understand who He truly is. He graciously assures us full pardon of sin, His robe of righteousness, and the right to eat of the Tree of Life. We can stand in His presence and know we have a perfect right to be there. Amazing privileges await those who love Him!
