Psalms 99
Reading Time: Less than one minute Listen
The Lord reigneth; let the people tremble: he sitteth between the cherubims; let the earth be moved.
2 The Lord is great in Zion; and he is high above all the people.
3 Let them praise thy great and terrible name; for it is holy.
4 The king's strength also loveth judgment; thou dost establish equity, thou executest judgment and righteousness in Jacob.
5 Exalt ye the Lord our God, and worship at his footstool; for he is holy.
6 Moses and Aaron among his priests, and Samuel among them that call upon his name; they called upon the Lord, and he answered them.
7 He spake unto them in the cloudy pillar: they kept his testimonies, and the ordinance that he gave them.
8 Thou answeredst them, O Lord our God: thou wast a God that forgavest them, though thou tookest vengeance of their inventions.
9 Exalt the Lord our God, and worship at his holy hill; for the Lord our God is holy.

Psalm 99:1-9
The Lord Our God Is Holy
1The Lord reigns; let the peoples tremble!
He sits enthroned upon the cherubim; let the earth quake!
2The Lord is great in Zion;
he is exalted over all the peoples.
3Let them praise your great and awesome name!
Holy is he!
4The King in his might loves justice.
You have established equity;
you have executed justice
and righteousness in Jacob.
5Exalt the Lord our God;
worship at his footstool!
Holy is he!
6Moses and Aaron were among his priests,
Samuel also was among those who called upon his name.
They called to the Lord, and he answered them.
7In the pillar of the cloud he spoke to them;
they kept his testimonies
and the statute that he gave them.
8O Lord our God, you answered them;
you were a forgiving God to them,
but an avenger of their wrongdoings.
9Exalt the Lord our God,
and worship at his holy mountain;
for the Lord our God is holy!

Commentary
A Prayer inspired by Psalms 99:
"Oh Lord God, who reigns over all the earth and heaven, before whom people and nations tremble, You who are exalted and Holy, forgive the sins of Your people, we who are called by Your name, Your remnant people. You who have forgiven the sins of Your people down through the ages, we look to You for our salvation and deliverance. We, who are guilty of grievous lukewarmness and insubordination, who have failed to follow the light that has lighted our paths and have loved the world and the things of this world more than You, forgive our sin. Although You dwell "between the cherubim," and are "high above the people," still You stoop to hear our cries and bend Your ear to listen to the pleadings of Your children. We come to Your "Holy Hill," yea, we come before You and take hold of a leg of Your "footstool" and cry, yea plead for forgiveness and cleansing. We, who are most unworthy and unsound, come to You, in the mighty name of Jesus, in whom is our hope and our assurance of answered prayer. It is in HIs name we pray...Amen
