Three Stories of Hope

Three Stories of Hope

By Hope Channel Staff

“Don’t be afraid. I have found you.”

The anguish of losing a loved one has the ability to leave the best of us feeling hopeless and unsure of how to move forward.

These were the feelings Yasmina experienced as she suddenly found herself a widow and single mother to her three-year-old son. Her late husband was a Christian, but she herself hadn’t yet found the same hope. It was during this time of great relief that she called out, “Why God?! Why should we die?!” She didn’t expect a reply, but God answered.

That very night, Yasmina had a dream she’d never forget. She saw a man, shining bright, full of kindness, and radiating peace. He calmly told her, “Don’t be afraid. I have found you.”

It took Yasmina ten more years to finally meet Jesus – the man of her dream. It was through a faithful mechanic that Yasmina connected with a couple who were able to answer her questions. Her heart overflowed with peace and joy.

Yasmina’s story continues to inspire others in the Middle East and North African region. Through Hope Channel Arabic-Alwaad, thousands more in this hard-to-reach region are able to learn more about Jesus – the man in their dreams and visions.

“Could it be that dogs too, can be used by God?”

God can use anyone – or anything – to share His truth. The fascinating Bible story of the talking donkey who helped save a man from destroying himself is proof that God will go to great lengths to reach us.

It is often said that dogs are man’s best friend. Not only are they loyal companions, but there is also a special emotional bond that develops between the dogs and its owner. Could it be that dogs, too, can be used by God?

Let me introduce you to Fabiola and Luisa – two Brazilian women unfamiliar with one another and living 800 miles apart, yet each struggling. Fabiola had just received a devastating cancer diagnosis, and Luisa was wrestling with a sudden divorce, the onset of disease, and a mother with declining health.

They both felt alone and hopeless.

Yet they share a similar story. Their furry friends, ever their loyal companions, stepped on their remote controls, changing the television channel to Novo Tempo, Hope Channel in Brazil.

Fabiola and Luisa’s lives have never been the same again. They have found hope in Jesus – a hope that completely transformed their hearts and their lives as they emerged form the darkness of their circumstances into the lights of God’s love.

“Have you ever felt lonely? Call on Jesus.”

A survey done by the American Psychiatric Association in 2024 found that over 30% of adults feel lonely at least once a week. Loneliness has been associated with increased risks of both mental and physical health issues.

Such was the case of Virgie, a resident of Belgium. As she looked for hope and guidance during the COVID-19 pandemic, she turned to her Bible. Unfortunately, Virgie quickly became disillusioned as she couldn’t make sense of what she was reading.

Thankfully, hope was restored when Virgie stumbled upon a livestream from Hope Channel South Philippines while scrolling through social media.

It was the start of something new. Her life was about to change.

As Virgie was drawn into the livestream, she began following multiple series on the channel and connected with digital missionaries who replaced her loneliness with words of encouragement, guidance, and spiritual growth. With the help of their counsel, Virgie understood the Bible and no longer felt lonely. She chose to be baptized and has newfound purpose, hope, and joy!

Have you ever felt lonely? Call on Jesus. He is the Friend who never leaves, the One who always listens and draws near. He is the Faithful Companion who has promised to never leave you nor forsake you.

World Church Prayer Requests

November 7 — 13, 2025

• World Church: Pray for our children as they wrestle with digital media and many other life distractions and addictions. Pray for God to capture their hearts and set them on fire for Jesus. Pray that they would discover their life mission and purpose.

• Zambia: Pray for the Chimtengo SDA Church as they prepare to hold an evangelistic series at a site that does not believe in the message of Jesus. Pray that those who work in this venue would be open to the Holy Spirit and would see Jesus through the church members.

• Mayotte: Pray for Mayotte SDA Church, a small congregation meeting in a home on the French island of Mayotte in the Indian Ocean. This island is small with few Christians, and the church recently received funding to build their own building of worship. Pray for wisdom and continued provision as the church leadership seeks the right people to work on the project. Pray that this new building will be a place where the community sees a new picture of God and will be curious and open to learning more of His love for them.

• Fiji: Pray for the Mount Olive SDA Church. For over five decades, the members have sat on mats for their worship services, and some people cannot attend as the mats are too uncomfortable. Pray that as they work and give, God would provide chairs for His glory.

• Botswana: Pray for the Mogoditshane District as the church begins several simultaneous evangelistic campaigns. Pray for all the members involved, that the Lord will brings souls for salvation and that the church will be unified and revived in His mission.

• United Kingdom: Pray for a Prayer Project in the Bracknell Town Centre. The dream has been to build a small gazebo to offer prayer ministry and free literature to the community. However, the team has not heard any response from the city government since they made their request two and a half years ago. Meanwhile, other religious groups who have applied much more recently have been granted permission and are beginning their outreach in that location. Pray that God will open doors and hearts and that many in the community will see Him working in this situation.

• United States: Pray for the Tampa First SDA Church as they prepare to begin an evangelistic series November 8. They have already hosted a health fair on October 19 so pray that the contacts made at that event will return for further relationships with the members and with Jesus. Pray that the church members will be filled to overflowing with His love and will pour that out on those who attend.
